ExcursionPristine sandy beaches and breathtaking ocean views are what make Wineglass Bay one of the most beautiful destinations for tourists and locals. Take an optional one-hour return walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout, or travel to Sleepy Bay and Cape Tourville Lighthouse. Here you can take in the spectacular views, where the gigantic pink and grey granite boulders spattered in orange lichen come alive with the Hazard Mountains as their backdrop.

Marine Biodiversity Cruise from Beauty Point and/or Seahorse World and Platypus World
40 minutes bus trip to Beauty Point. Step aboard the Australian Maritime College’s marine research vessel Reviresco and over 2½ hours discover the subtidal habitats of the Tamar Estuary using state-of-the-art underwater video systems. The Tamar Estuary has a wide variety of marine habitats including seagrass meadows, sponge gardens and giant kelp forests. Get up close and personal with an amazing variety of marine plants and animals without getting your feet wet!

Seahorse World
Award winning Seahorse World is a “must see” attraction located just 50 minutes north of Launceston at picturesque Beauty Point. Seahorse World provides an excellent educational experience as well as leading the world in research and development to alleviate the plight of wild seahorses. TUESDAY 26th JUNE Launceston City Sights & Cataract Gorge Tour
A quality tour giving an overview of Australia’s third oldest city, its magnificent buildings, early history, scenic vantage points, recreational venues, parks, gardens and educational facilities. Visit the popular Cataract Gorge where you have the option of riding The Basin Chairlift (own expense) or wander the pathways through this beautiful reserve. On our way back to the city we will visit the Design Centre of Tasmania.

Tamar Valley Winery Tour
Travel along the tranquil West Tamar appreciating the panoramic view of the valley from Brady’s Lookout. Sample award-winning wines at Rosevears Estate Vineyard, before returning by the river’s edge to Batman Bridge and Auld Kirk Church - an historic convict site. Finish with a coach tour of Grindelwald Swiss Village before returning to Launceston.

FRIDAY 29th JUNE
Cradle Mountain National Park
Travel through Sheffield, the town of the Murals, nestled under spectacular Mt Roland to Cradle Mountain National Park, part of Tasmania’s World Heritage area, a wilderness of pristine forest and glacial lakes. Visit the information centre before continuing to Dove Lake. Watch for wallabies and experience the many short walks through the temperate rainforest of this premier national park before returning to Launceston late afternoon. Lunch at own cost.
