Professor David Lindenmayer is a key participant of The Centre for Resource and Environmental Studies at the Australian National University and actively involved in forest wildlife management and nature conservation.

He is currently researching the development of approaches for integrated forest management and nature and biodiversity conservation. His current major research projects include: modelling of wildlife; examining the effectiveness of wildlife corridors; identifying long-term viable populations of organisms; and determining the impacts of habitat fragmentation on forest-dependent and woodland-dependent fauna. In addition, he studies the impacts of habitat fragmentation, large-scale landscape change and wildlife response, and plantation design for biodiversity conservation. He has published 16 books and over 405 scientific articles from his major large-scale and long-term research projects.
